AI is not magic. Anyone who understands how it works can learn to use it critically and responsibly.

Primary school, years 5 and 6 (ages 10 to 12)

Three practical, hands-on building blocks that let children discover step by step what AI is, how it works and where its limits lie.

What is AI?

Using recognisable examples, pupils discover what AI is, what it can do and, just as importantly, what it cannot do.

How does a language model work?

Pupils discover how a language model predicts the next piece of text, one step at a time. It does not understand like a human, it calculates what is likely to come next.

Using AI smartly and critically

Pupils practise deciding when they can and cannot trust AI, how to check answers and which information they should not share.

Secondary education

The content and approach grow with the pupils. From a first understanding of how AI works to critical, programme-specific use in the later years.

Ages 12 to 14

Understanding AI and using it responsibly

In the first two years of secondary school, the focus is on understanding what AI does, how language models form answers and how pupils can use AI responsibly.

Pupils use recognisable examples to discover how AI recognises patterns, makes predictions and why an AI system does not think like a human.

Use

How does a language model work?

Pupils experience how a language model predicts the next likely piece of text, step by step, and why that sometimes produces convincing but incorrect answers.

Assess

Using it smartly and safely

Pupils practise checking answers, protecting personal information and deciding when AI is or is not appropriate.

Ages 14 to 18

AI tailored to the study programme

From age 14 onwards, workshops are tailored to the pupils' study programme and level. Together with subject teachers, a track can be built around realistic applications, limitations and risks within their own field.

From data to result

Pupils gain insight into how data, instructions, context and probability influence the result of an AI system.

Apply

AI within their own field

Pupils use AI in recognisable assignments from their study programme and learn where the technology genuinely adds value.

Assess

Control and responsibility

Pupils learn to check results and deal consciously with errors, privacy, copyright, bias and human responsibility.

Tailor-made

Programme-specific tracks

No standard workshop for every programme. The content is agreed with subject teachers and matched to the pupils' learning goals, prior knowledge and daily practice.

STEM and sciences

Applying AI in research, analysis, design, problem solving and technical documentation, with attention to correct data and verifiable results.

Care and wellbeing

Responsible use of AI in communication, information processing and administration, with particular attention to privacy, professional confidentiality and human judgement.

Construction and technology

Using AI for preparation, planning, safety information, technical support and documentation, without blindly adopting generated information.

Economics and entrepreneurship

Using AI for analysis, communication, customer-oriented work and entrepreneurship, with attention to confidential data and well-founded decisions.

Languages and communication

Using AI for writing, translating, summarising and information research, with attention to nuance, source checking, copyright and pupils' own language skills.

Other study programmes

For other fields too, a track can be developed together with subject teachers around relevant applications and concrete learning goals.

Training for teachers

Teachers learn how AI and language models work, where the limitations lie and how to use AI responsibly in their lessons.

The training can be tailored to the education level, the study programme and the specific questions of the school team. Alongside practical applications, there is attention for source checking, privacy, copyright, assessment and guiding pupils in their use of AI.

Understand

How language models form answers, why they make mistakes and why convincing output is not necessarily correct.

Apply

Using AI purposefully for lesson preparation, differentiated teaching, feedback, exercises and subject-specific assignments.

Guide

Making clear agreements, assessing AI use and teaching pupils to account for their methods and sources.

Community organisations

Tailor-made workshops for youth organisations, sports clubs and other community organisations that want to introduce their volunteers or members to AI. Practical, not a deep technical story.

Neurodivergent talent and AI

A practice-oriented track for neurodivergent people who want to develop towards a professional role in AI, data or automation.
